The Project

Objectives

The main goal of HumanAI is to develop accessible, customizable, and easy-to-understand generative AI solutions tailored to individuals with diverse cognitive impairments.

This includes people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, individuals with acquired brain injuries or neurodegenerative conditions, and older adults experiencing cognitive changes. By placing diverse cognitive needs at the core of AI design, HumanAI fosters inclusive participation, enhances autonomy, and enables effective interaction for all users.

Specific Objectives

With these objectives, HumanAI delivers generative AI innovations that recognize cognitive diversity, fostering inclusive technology that benefits everyone.

O1

Understand diverse cognitive needs and challenges

Understand diverse cognitive needs and challenges. Research and identify unique barriers and opportunities faced by individuals with varying cognitive profiles when interacting with generative AI tools.

O2

Advance multimodal Spanish LLMs for cognitive accessibility

Advance existing multimodal Spanish Large Language Models (LLMs) by developing methods to produce simplified, plain-language, and easy-to-read content enriched with visual supports, specifically tailored to support diverse cognitive abilities.

O3

Create adaptable and inclusive user interfaces

Design user-centric interfaces through collaborative processes that accommodate various cognitive requirements, incorporating conversational assistants, intuitive navigation, pictograms, and multimodal interactions.

O4

Define effective prompt engineering for cognitive accessibility

Establish clear, cognitively accessible guidelines for prompt creation, enabling diverse user groups to effectively interact with and benefit from generative AI.

O5

Foster ecological sustainability in AI development

Optimize existing language models combining effective performance with environmental care.

O6

Empirical validation in real-world use cases

Validate solutions through use cases in health and education contexts, assessing the effectiveness of project outcomes and user satisfaction across diverse cognitive profiles.
