HumanAI brings together two experienced research groups with complementary expertise

HULAT

HULAT Human Language and accessibility TechnologiesHULAT (Human Language and Accessibility Technologies Group at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid) specializes in Natural Language Processing, corpus creation, text simplification, and the integration of Accessibility using software engineering and HCI methods. Projects include EASIER, Access2Meet, Access2Citizen, and DeepEMR, highlighting their track record in inclusive technology for people with sensory and cognitive disabilities, crossing multiple domains such as biomedical research, education, mobility, emergency services, and public administration.

NIL-UCM

Natural interaction based on languageNIL-UCM (Natural Interaction based on Language Group at Universidad Complutense de Madrid) are experts in language technologies for accessibility and Human-Computer Interaction. Previous work includes the CANTOR and IDiLyCo projects, focusing on tools and methods that enhance accessibility for individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and acquired brain injuries. Partnerships with leading accessibility researchers (e.g., from UPC and UNED) reinforce the group’s focus on universal design, user acceptance models, and prototype evaluation with people with disabilities.
