Researchers from HULAT-UC3M, part of the HumanAI project, participated in the IberLEF 2025 (Iberian Languages Evaluation Forum), held within SEPLN 2025. The forum brings together the NLP research community around shared tasks for Spanish and other Iberian languages. The group contributed papers in four tasks covering plain language, anglicisms, misogyny, and mental health.
In the MentalRiskES: Early detection of mental disorders risk in Spanish task, Javier Campos and Paloma Martínez presented the paper HULAT-UC3M at Task1@MentalRiskES 2025: Detecting Gambling Disorders Using Machine Learning Approaches.
In the ADoBo 2025: Automatic Detection of Borrowings task, Javier Madrid, Paloma Martínez and Lourdes Moreno presented the paper HULAT-UC3M @ ADoBo 2025: A RoBERTa-based Pipeline for Anglicisms Detection in Spanish Texts.
Participation in the CLEARS 2025: Challenge for Plain Language and Easy-to-Read Adaptation for Spanish texts task included the papers:
- HULAT-UC3M @ CLEARS2025 Subtask 1: Prompt-Based Simplification for Plain Language using Spanish Language Models, authored by Lourdes Moreno, Jesús Manuel Sánchez Gómez, Marco Sánchez-Escudero and Paloma Martínez. The preprint is available on arXiv.
- Integrating Linguistic Knowledge into Prompting Strategies for Spanish Text Simplification: Insights from Alberto Díaz.
Finally, in the MiSonGyny 2025: Misogyny in Song Lyrics task, Isabel Segura-Bedmar presented the paper HULAT-UC3M at MiSonGyny 2025: Detecting Misogyny in Song Lyrics with Transformer Ensembles and Instruction-Tuned Generative Models.
